Naomi is the editor of
The Methuen Drama Book of Suffrage Plays which was published as an ebook and a paperback in the UK in January 2013.
It will be publised in the US in March 2013.

The ISBN is 9781408176580

After 'Knickerbocker Glories' it was clear that people were interested in the plays, surprised by their humour, quality and good female roles and wanted to read more.
I thought that a volume of 'playable' suffrage plays would be a great idea. Drawing on the experience of putting together the Actresses' Franchise League readings at the Novello and Prince of Wales Theatres in 2008 and 2009, I've put together some short pieces that are appealing, playable and fun.
  • If you are interested in Women's History, Theatre History, the Edwardian Stage, Political Theatre, the Suffrage Movement and Women's Writing - this book is for you!
  • If you are a performer or director looking for some unusual and good one act plays with a message - this book is for you!
  • If you're an actress looking for comic monologues or duologues - this is definitely for you!
  • If you are teaching or studying Votes for Women then this book is perfect for you - it's full of primary source material and a great tool for practical sessions!
  • If you would like to find out more about women's political writing for the theatre in the Edwardian period - then this book is for you!

I'm so excited that my idea has been realised and can't wait to share the plays and work of the Actresses' Franchise League with a wider audience.
