STAGE RIGHTS! A LIVING LITERATURE WALK
FOLLOWING THE SUFFRAGETTES THROUGH THEATRE LAND
SATURDAYS 20TH AND 27TH APRIL 2013
STAGE RIGHTS! BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION
On the 20th and 27th of April 2013, inspired by The Globe’s Shakespearian Sonnet Walks, Scary Little Girls and Naomi Paxton aimed to bring the theatre land of the Actresses' Franchise League alive.
Artists from Scary Little Girls, with Mark Rylance’s support, have already created these unique walks internationally, including ones around Lower Manhattan in New York, Marylebone Village in London and Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. Last year their walk about the Mitford sisters was championed by the Guardian Books section and was also hailed in the Independents' "Everybody's Talking About" feature.
The Living Literature Walks make both city and writing come alive as the route becomes a performative treasure hunt and you find the hidden world of our heroines!
Scary Little Girls is an innovative production hub and registered charity. They provide development, networking and cross-fertilisation opportunities for over 100 artists and groups as well as producing high quality original work in a variety of artistic media.
